Project Overview
The Achimota School Road Interchange is a six lane ‘road over road’ bridge project with associated road network and was constructed as part of the Nsawam road reconstruction project. The interchange was designed by Messrs Municipal Development Collaborative (MDC) Ltd of Ghana
NKA’s Role
NKA was the traffic engineering consultant to MDC. NKA was responsible for planning, traffic data collection, and traffic engineering design for the interchange involving:
- Traffic data: origin – destination surveys; traffic volume and classification counts
- Axle load surveys
- Road accident data
- Engineering design
- Development of a traffic management scheme for the entire road corridor in which the interchange was located in 2003
