Impact Assessment and Resettlement Action Plan Preparation, Monitoring and Evaluation of three World Bank financed projects in Accra and Kumasi
Project Overview
As part of the Road Sector Development Project which was financed by the World Bank and the Government of Ghana, the Department of Urban Roads implemented three road projects: Teshie Link road, Accra; Asafo Market Interchange, Kumasi and Nsawam road, Accra. The projects affected people living or undertaking business activities within the road corridors. These persons had to be relocated, resettled and or compensated for loss of structures and businesses
NKA’s Role
NKA staff was responsible for undertaking the assignment. Tasks performed included:
- Baseline studies to establish the socio-economic status of people living within the roads corridors
- Assessment of the physical impact of the projects on persons: land uptake and properties affected
- Assessment of quantum of compensation
- Management of the compensation payment and resettlement processes
